G. Ruchini Sapunika is a library professional attached to the Library of The Open University of Sri Lanka. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Library and Information Science from the University of Kelaniya. Her academic interests include library and information services, information literacy, and the role of libraries in community and educational development.

She has contributed to scholarly research through her publication, "An Exploratory Study on the Contribution of Public Libraries in Sri Lanka to the Development of Soft Skills among Adolescent Readers: A Focus on the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Central Provinces," which was presented at the International Research Conference on Palm Leaf Manuscripts organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, in 2026.

As a member of the Open University Library, she is committed to supporting teaching, learning, and research by providing quality library services and promoting access to information resources.
